BEASTS, BUGS AND BIRDS
Waddesdon is full of all sorts of amazing things, including lots of animals, insects and birds, but you have to look for them! Don't forgot to keep a look out when you visit the House or walk around the Gardens.
The House was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschld, over 100 years ago. He loved gardens, birds and animals, as well as collecting beautiful things. Much of the furniture and objects were made in France in the 18th century, because he was particularly interested in that country and that time. Some of the treasures you will see when you visit, belonged to Kings and Queens. Baron Ferdinand liked parties, so every weekend in the summer, his friends would come and stay. They enjoyed the gardens and were very impressed with the House! We hope you will be too.
To help you have lots of fun when you visit the House we have a Children's Safari House Trail, on sale at the main door of the House for just 50p! |
