For a week in February and again in March, there's a whole series of inspiring workshops at Waddesdon Plant Centre. Each workshop includes four hours expert tuition but the sessions are designed to be very much 'hands-on', with the chance to produce your own artistic creations. All the materials you'll need are provided.

FEBRUARY
Tuesday 23 February: Flower Arranging
Learn from our very own hugely experienced florist how to create different types of eye-catching floral arrangements (Spring garden, box, planted and hand tied) using local, seasonal flowers and plants.

Wednesday 24 February: Willow Weaving - CANCELLED
An introduction by local artist Anne Ratnarajah to the fascinating art of willow weaving, demonstrating how to create beautiful structures from both living and cut willow - www.anneratnarajah.com

Thursday 25 February: Fused Glass Jewellery Making
A step by step explanation from local glass artist and print maker Heather Power of the techniques used to make fused glass jewellery (earrings and a necklace). (Your own pieces will be ready for collection the following week, after they have been fired).

Friday 26 February - Introduction to Botanical Watercolours
A rare opportunity to draw on the experience of renowned watercolour artist Joy Hawes. Joy will demonstrate how to use various techniques and colour to capture the exquisite natural beauty of flowers and plants.

MARCH
Tuesday 2 March - Flower Arrangements
Another chance to learn how to make four different kinds of floral displays (Spring garden, box, planted and hand tied) with local, seasonal flowers and plants. Create a very personal gift just in time for Mothers' Day!

Wednesday 3 March - Hedgerow Basketry
Using locally sourced hedgerow materials, make a unique piece of basketry under the expert eye of local willow artist Anne Ratnarajah - www.anneratnarajah.com

Thursday 4 March - Glass Panel Hangings - CANCELLED
Employing similar techniques to those used for fused glass jewellery, local glass artist Heather Power will show you how to make a stunning decorative glass panel for hanging at home. (Your own piece will be ready for collection the following week, after it has been fired).

Friday 5 March - Introduction to Landscapes in Watercolours
The subject for Joy's second workshop is the creation of breathtaking watercolour landscapes, using a range of different techniques.
