'Open Academy takes the Academy's mission of training student performers and composers at the highest levelt, out into the community. Through a combination of mandatory and elective community outreach courses and professional development opportunities, students confront the realities of the 'Portfolio' career in 2008. Project partners enable students to learn on the front line whilst our Summer School, Cultural Exchange, Fellowship and Commission Programmes draw in and take us out to the widest possible reaches of the community, with informed, practical music-making at the heart'.
Julian West and a brass quintet of academy students will give an interactive concert on Saturday 28th at 3.00 on the Bandstand. A wonderful opportunity and a great addition to the MAD weekend.
