Most parts of the garden are accessible.  There are gravelled areas immediately in front of the House, on the parterre, and also around the Aviary and steep and uneven paths on the way to the Stables and through the Tulip Patch.

We have 4 wheelchairs which are available on a first-come, first-served basis, to be used within the House.  These wheelchairs are located in the main entrance of the House, for timed entry ticket holders.

Most areas of the House are accessible to wheelchair users.  However, there is limited access to the Prints and Drawings Rooms, and Wine Cellars.  If possible, please let us know in advance of your visit if you wish to see these areas, by calling us on 01296 653226, 10am-4pm, Mon-Fri to make prior arrangements.
Please note that access to the Prints and Drawings Rooms involves the use of a stairlift which does not accommodate wheelchairs.

If possible, we request that any wheelchair users transfer into one of our House wheelchairs upon arrival at the House entrance. However, if this is not possible, you are welcome to use your own wheelchair, and we can advise if it can be accommodated within our historic lift which services the first floor.

If you use a walking frame, you are welcome to use this within the House.

Please note, due to safety reasons, we can only allow 2 wheelchairs on any floor at the same time and therefore on busy days there may be some waiting time during your visit.

We have an accessible toilet in the House, and this is accessed via the tunnel to the basement level, by the Manor Shop Courtyard. There is an accessible toilet in The Stables Courtyard, adjacent to the ladies' toilet.

Some of the rooms have large type information booklets available.

Assistance Dogs
