2014 Waddesdon Welcome
When you arrive at Waddesdon, you will be directed into the new 1000- space visitor car park. Once you have parked, there is then a short walk to the temporary admissions kiosk, where you can purchase gardens admission tickets or have your National Trust membership cards scanned. There are also some temporary lavatories at this location or more when you reach the House.

The shuttle bus service is regular, you should not expect to have to wait any longer than approximately 5 minutes to board a bus, there are seats in the bus stop area if required. The shuttle bus will take you directly from the car park to the “North” Fountain, from which you will see a stunning view of the House itself. There is then a short walk of 100metres (on a flat, surfaced path) to arrive at the House, and other amenities.

The Stables
Our shuttle buses will stop at the popular Stables, where there is a Café, shop with children’s sweets and toys, and Coach House gallery which is open for temporary exhibitions at certain times of the year.

If you wish to visit The Stables as part of your day, and then return later to the House (for example, to visit the House on a timed-entry ticket), you could take the shuttle bus via the car park and stay on the bus as it continues on to the North Fountain.

Returning to the car park
At the end of your visit, please return to bus stops at either the North Fountain or The Stables where the shuttle buses will return to the car park on a regular basis. During the main season, March to October, the last buses will return at 5.30pm, and during the Christmas season they will return at 6pm, and later on certain advertised evenings.

Walking options
There will be a temporary new footpath route linking the car park to the main gardens, and this will be a mown grass path, with signage to indicate the route. The estimated walking time is 15-20 minutes, and we do not recommend this path for visitors with mobility requirements. Once the path has been temporarily introduced, a permanent, surfaced path will be launched in the future. You are very welcome to use this path instead of the buses for either of your journeys at the beginning or end of your day.

Shuttle Bus suitability for pushchairs, buggies and other equipment
Each shuttle bus has 33 seats, and space at the front for three pushchairs or buggies. There is also standing space for another 15-20 people if required at busy times only.
